AWS COST REDUCTION
AWS COST REDUCTION [PART 01]
Hello everyone!
Using the AWS cloud is wonderful and makes life a lot easier, besides literally creating an account and having the possibility to create VMs with 1 or 128 vCPU, for example.
The great thing, as I always say, is there is no free lunch! At the end of the month, the bill arrives.
This week I’m going to give you tips on a few points we can look out for to reduce our monthly AWS bill. Remember that these tips are useful both to implement in your labs and for your company.
PRICING OF INSTANCES
The first point of utmost importance is to understand the ways of pricing in the AWS cloud. There are 07 types of options to buy instances on AWS:
- On-demand instances;
- Savings Plans;
- Reserved instances;
- Spot instances;
- Dedicated hosts;
- Dedicated instances;
- Capacity reservation.
During this week we are going to delve into these items and understand each one of them and be grounded when making decisions in our infrastructure.
For those looking to dig deeper into the subject, it’s best to read the AWS Documentation.
I hope I helped in some way and thank you for following up here and I’ll wait for you in the next article 😃
